WINDSURFING
Boardsports School enjoys exclusive teaching rights at 2 of the best beach locations in the Bay Area - Crown Beach Alameda and Coyote Point Park in San Mateo. We have side on shore winds, long sandy beaches, and shallow warm water. Learn at these two ideal beginner and intermediate locations where you will come back to practice on your own. We also offer a full retail shop and can outfit you with all the gear to get you started.

Beginner Windsurfing: Getting Started
2 DAY BEGINNER WINDSURFING LESSON: $165 for 2 day lesson (save $35 on 2 day class) $100 for Day 1 or Day 2 only Gear & wetsuit Included Location: Alameda or San Mateo* Every Sat & Sun in Alameda, 10-1pm: Mar-Sept Every Sat & Sun in San Mateo, 10-12pm: Mar-Sept

STEERING & STANCE: Reinforce and refine your steering skills and your stance in higher winds and choppy water.
FAST TACK: Learn to confidently windsurf upwind & turn fast with sail-through fast tacks.
PIVOT JIBE: Learn to sail straight down wind & then pivot the board while jibing the sail.

HARNESS: Learn to use the harness instead of tiring out your arms. Hook into your rig and go fast!Upon completion, you will receive a 10% discount on the purchase of a harness
BEACHSTART: Learn to position the board using just the sail and mast so that you can simply step onto the board and sail away. No more initial uphauling. This course is the precursor to the Waterstart lesson.
WATERSTART: Restart while in deep water by flying the sail and having it pull you up onto the board. No more uphauling!

HIGH WIND JIBE: Learn how to carve the board and jibe the sail in high-wind, planing conditions.

We carry a full range of beginner, intermediate & advanced windsurf rentals for adults and children. Our equipment includes Naish, Bic, Hifly, Mistral, Loft Sails, and Hot Sails Maui. We have sail sizes from .8 up to 7.5 and board sizes from 78 to 240 liters.

Stand Up Paddle Board & Kayak Rentals    No reservations needed, first come first serve. Our kayaks are easy sit a top and sit in kayaks and do not require instruction. All you need to know is how to swim! Stand Up Paddle Board: $20 1 hour Single Kayak: $20 1 1/2 hour Double Kayak: $30 1 1/2 hour Life vests included.
Kids Instruction & Rentals We have the largest selection of kid’s windsurfing gear in the bay area. We teach as young as 4 yrs old!
